“Don’t give holy things to dogs, and don’t throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may stomp all over them and then turn around and tear you to pieces.
But wouldn’t people deserve even more punishment if they’ve trampled the Son of God under their feet, treated the blood of the covenant as unholy, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
it’s not possible to bring them back. They won’t be able to turn away from their sins. They’re nailing the Son of God to the cross all over again and bringing shame on him in front of everyone—although they’re the ones who are really losing out.
I’ve had to keep on the move constantly. I’ve been in danger from rivers, in danger from robbers, in danger from my fellow Jews, and in danger from Gentiles. I’ve been in danger in the city, in the country, and at sea. I’ve been in danger from people who pretended they were believers.
Outside the city are those who are impure, those who practice witchcraft, those who commit sexual sins and murder, those who worship idols, and everyone who loves and does what is false.
