When Jesus had finished saying all these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching.

They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority.

The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them with authority, not like the teachers of the law.

“No one ever spoke the way this man does,” the guards replied.

On the Sabbath day, he began to teach in the synagogue. Many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given to him? What are these remarkable miracles that he’s doing? Isn’t this the carpenter?

Everyone said good things about him. They were amazed at the gracious words they heard from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.

The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How can this man know so much when he’s never been taught?”

When the crowds heard this, they were amazed by what Jesus taught.

But they couldn’t find any way to do it, because all the people were always crowding around him, wanting to hear everything he said.

When the chief priests and the teachers of the law heard about this, they began to look for a way to kill Jesus. They were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,

After Jesus had finished teaching his 12 disciples, he went on to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the area of Judea that’s on the other side of the Jordan River.

The rain came down, the water rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a loud crash.”

He taught like one who had authority, and not like their teachers of the law.

Everyone who heard him was astonished by how much he understood and the answers he gave.

Jesus finished saying all these things to the people who were listening, and then he went into Capernaum.
