Don’t live the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you’ll be able to recognize what God wants for you and agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect.

Jesus called the crowd to him, along with his disciples, and he said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple has to deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow me.

There they strengthened the disciples, encouraging them to remain faithful to what they’d been taught. “We have to go through many hard times to enter the kingdom of God,” they explained.

“I’ve told you these things so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you’re going to have trouble. But be encouraged! I’ve already defeated the world.”

“So those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.”

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

Why not? Because they tried to do it themselves, instead of relying on faith in God. They tripped over the stone that causes people to trip and fall.

You’re going to be thrown out of the synagogue. In fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they’re serving God.

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you disguised as sheep, but on the inside they’re hungry wolves.
