“So I’m telling you not to worry about your life, what you’ll eat or drink, and not to worry about your body, what you’ll wear. Isn’t there more to life than eating? And isn’t there more to the body than clothes?

Don’t worry about anything, but in every situation, pray and give thanks to God and ask him to help you.

“Think about how the wild flowers grow. They don’t work or make clothes, but not even Solomon in his royal robes, I tell you, was dressed like one of those flowers.

Don’t get all worried and say, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’

John answered, “Anyone who has extra clothes should share them with those who have none, and anyone who has extra food should do the same.”

Don’t bring a bag for the journey, or any extra clothes or sandals or a walking stick. A worker deserves to be given what’s needed.

Can any of you add even one hour to your life by worrying?

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are anxious and upset about many things,

“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers, and authorities, don’t worry about how to stand up for yourselves or about what to say.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you, don’t worry about your life and what you will eat, and don’t worry about your body and what you will wear.

Turn all your worries over to him, because he cares about you.
