Don’t let us fall into temptation, and save us from the evil one.’

You’re tempted in the same way that all other human beings are. And God is faithful; he won’t let you be tempted beyond what you can endure. When you are tempted, God will provide a way out, and then you’ll be able to resist.

I’m not asking for you to take them out of the world. I’m asking for you to keep them safe from the evil one.

“Watch and pray so that you won’t fall into sin when you’re tempted. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

After these things I heard a roar in heaven that sounded like a huge crowd. They were shouting, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

May your kingdom come— may your will be done on earth as it already is done in heaven.

Since all of this is true, then the Lord knows how to save godly people and keep them safe in times of testing. But he also knows how to keep ungodly people under guard until the day they will be judged and punished.

and about how you’re waiting for his Son to come from heaven. The Son is the one God raised from the dead, Jesus, and he saves us from God’s coming anger.

He will live with them, and they’ll be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or sadness or crying or pain, because these things are gone forever.”

You’ve kept my command to remain strong in the faith no matter what happens, so I’m going to keep you from the time of suffering that the rest of the world is going to experience. That suffering will test those who live on the earth.

The person who does what is sinful belongs to the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the devil’s work.

Be alert and stay sober. Your enemy the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for something to kill and eat.

Jesus gave his life for our sins. He did this to set us free from the evil age we’re now living in.

because if you ask, “Did God keep his promises?” the answer in every case is, “Yes, through Jesus.” And so through him we say “Amen,” to the glory of God.

Don’t be afraid of what you’re going to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you’ll be mistreated for ten days. Be faithful, even if you have to die, and I’ll give you life as your victory crown.

the Living One. I was dead, but now look! I’m alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys to death and Hades.

All you need to say is simply ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ Anything more than that comes from the evil one.

Otherwise, if you’re thanking God in the Spirit and there are visitors present who want to know what’s going on, how can they say “Amen” when you give thanks? They don’t know what you’re saying.

Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I will always be with you, to the very end of the age.”

The 24 elders and the four living creatures bowed down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, “Amen! Hallelujah!”

Then I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and in the ocean—the entire creation—speaking and saying, “Praise and honor and glory and power belong to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb for ever and ever!”

“Write this to the angel of the church in Laodicea: The Amen speaks these words. He is the faithful and true witness, the ruler over God’s creation.

Some were insulted and whipped; some were held in chains and put in prison.

May the eternal King, who will never die, who can’t be seen, and who is the only God, receive honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
