News about him spread all over Syria, and they brought him everyone who was ill with any kind of sicknesses. Some were suffering great pain, while others were controlled by demons. Some were shaking wildly, and others couldn’t move at all. Jesus healed every one of them.

“Lord,” he said, “have mercy on my son. He shakes wildly and suffers a great deal. He often falls into the fire or into the water.

“Lord,” he said, “my servant can’t get out of bed. He isn’t able to move, and he’s suffering terribly.”

But the news about Jesus spread even more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses.

This was the first time a registration was required, and it happened while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

Jesus ordered the demon to leave the boy, and the demon came out of him. He was healed at that moment.

A Canaanite woman who lived near there came to him and cried out, “Lord! Son of David! Have mercy on me! A demon has been controlling my daughter and making her suffer terribly.”

Then they brought Jesus a man who was controlled by demons that kept him from speaking or seeing. Jesus healed the man so that he could speak and see.

You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were under the devil’s power, because God was with him.

Here’s the letter they sent with them: From the apostles and elders, your brothers. To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia. Greetings.

That evening after sunset the people brought Jesus everyone who was sick or controlled by demons.

Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every illness and sickness that the people had.

Paul first went through Syria and Cilicia to strengthen the churches there.

Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Holy Spirit. News about him spread through the whole countryside.

News about Jesus spread quickly all over Galilee.

At that time Herod, the ruler of Galilee and Perea, heard reports about Jesus.

But others said, “A person controlled by a demon doesn’t say things like this. Can a demon restore the sight of someone who’s blind?”

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every illness and sickness.

News of this spread through that whole area.

They went across the Sea of Galilee to the area of the Gadarenes. When Jesus got out of the boat, two men controlled by demons came out of the tombs to meet him. These men were so dangerous that no one could go near them.

Those who were tending the pigs ran into town and reported everything, including what had happened to the men who’d been controlled by the demons.

They couldn’t get him close to Jesus because of the crowd, so they went up onto the roof and dug through it right above Jesus. Then they lowered the man on a mat through the hole in the roof.

Which is easier to say to this man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or, ‘Get up, take your mat, and walk’?

Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. At that time, Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, so they asked Jesus to help her.

But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man who couldn’t walk, “I tell you, get up, take your mat, and go home.”

With screams, evil spirits came out of many people, and others who were disabled or couldn’t walk were healed.

This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the whole country.

Then the rest of the sick people on the island came, and they too were healed.
