Jesus didn’t eat for 40 days and 40 nights, and he got very hungry.

and there the devil tempted him for 40 days. Jesus ate nothing during that time, and at the end of the 40 days he was very hungry.

Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was tired from the journey, so he sat down by the well. It was around noon.

The next day, as they were leaving Bethany, they were hungry.

Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back into Jerusalem, he was hungry.

When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me;

I was hungry, but you didn’t give me anything to eat. I was thirsty, but you didn’t give me anything to drink.
