After Jesus drank it, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and died.

Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” After he said this, he took his last breath.

So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! He offered himself to God without any flaw through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. His blood washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

With a loud cry, Jesus took his last breath.

Be like the Son of Man, who didn’t come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life to set people free.”

They know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I give up my life for the sheep.

A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on the stem of a hyssop plant, and lifted it up to Jesus’ lips.

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, with loud cries and tears he prayed to and pleaded with the God who could save him from death, and God listened to him because of his reverence.
