Because of what the Son has done, we’ve been set free and all our sins have been forgiven.

Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “This is my body, given for you; do this in memory of me.”

and to bring all things back to himself through what Christ has done, everything on earth and in heaven. God made peace through Christ’s blood, by his death on the cross.

Because one man did not obey, many people were made sinners. But because another man did obey, many people will be made right with God.

“This is my blood of the covenant,” he told them, “poured out for many.

After this I looked, and I saw a huge crowd of people in front of me. They stood in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb. There were so many that no one could count them. They came from every nation, tribe, race, and language. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.

However, the gift is not like the crime. If many died because of one man's transgression, how much more abundant is the gift of God's grace, which is offered to many by one man, Jesus Christ.

These words of the prophet Isaiah came true when John the Baptist appeared in the desert, preaching that people should seek God’s forgiveness by being baptized and turning away from their sins.

and forgive our sins, just as we forgive those who sin against us.

Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he handed it to them. He said, “Drink from it, all of you.

I tell you that I won’t drink wine with you again from now until the day when I drink it with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

But wouldn’t people deserve even more punishment if they’ve trampled the Son of God under their feet, treated the blood of the covenant as unholy, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
