So then how will we escape if we don’t pay attention to the even greater salvation that the Lord Jesus announced? Those who heard him told us what he said,

turn against their friends, and act without thinking. They’ll believe they’re better than others, and they’ll love pleasure instead of loving God.

If a person’s mind is ruled by their wrong desires, that brings death. But if a person’s mind is ruled by the Spirit, that brings life and peace.

Aren’t you showing disrespect for God’s great kindness, favor, and patience? Don’t you realize that God’s kindness is meant to turn you away from your sins?

Paul talked about how to live a godly life, about how people should control themselves, and about the time when God will judge everyone. This made Felix afraid. He said, “That’s enough for now! You may go, but when I find the time, I’ll send for you again.”

But some people in the crowd made fun of the believers. They said, “They’ve had too much wine!”

The seed that fell among the thorns stands for those who hear the message but then have it crowded out by the worries of this life and the false promises of wealth, which keep it from producing fruit.

“Then he sent out some more slaves. He said, ‘Tell those who were invited that I’ve prepared my dinner. I’ve killed the oxen and the fattened cattle. Everything is ready, so come to the wedding banquet.’

The rest grabbed his slaves, treated them badly, and killed them.

He told those who were selling doves, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

These teachers will be so greedy that they’ll make up stories to take advantage of you. But they’ve been under a sentence of death for a long time. Their destruction has not been sleeping.
