Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem,

A man named Lazarus was sick. He was in Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived.

Jesus led his disciples out to the area near Bethany. Then he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

Jesus was in Bethany, eating dinner in the home of Simon the Leper. A woman came in with an alabaster jar that contained very expensive perfume made out of pure nard. She broke the jar open and poured the perfume on Jesus’ head.
