Jesus replied, “Moses allowed you to divorce your wives because you were so hard-hearted. But that’s not the way it was from the beginning.
“Moses wrote you that law because you were so hard-hearted,” Jesus responded.
(I’m giving you permission to do this; I’m not telling you that you should.)
The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”
Jesus answered, “Please agree to this. It’s right for us to do everything that God is asking of people now.” So then John agreed.
They asked, “Then why did Moses say that a man could give his wife a letter of divorce and send her away?”
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
Later Jesus appeared to the 11 disciples as they were eating. He had strong words for them for being so unbelieving and hard-hearted. He told them they should have believed the people who’d seen him after he rose from the dead.
