Like newborn babies, you should crave the pure milk of God’s word. It will help you grow up as believers.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and don’t try to stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these.”

Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. Be like babies as far as evil is concerned, but in your thinking, be like adults.

Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they’re born of water and the Spirit.

Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they’re born again.”

“Try very hard to enter through the narrow door. I tell you that many will try to enter, but they will not be able to.

So turn away from your sins and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped away. Then the time will come when the Lord makes everything new.

These people’s hearts have become stubborn. They can barely hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts. Then they would turn, and I would heal them.’

Then he said to the disciples, “Truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending’ on the Son of Man.”

I tell you, unless your righteousness is even better than the righteousness of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you won’t enter the kingdom of heaven.

But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. When you have turned back, help your brothers to be strong.”

That way, “ ‘They’ll see but never know what they’re seeing, They’ll hear but never understand. Otherwise, they might turn and be forgiven!’ ”

You’ll receive a rich welcome into the kingdom our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His kingdom will last forever.

There they strengthened the disciples, encouraging them to remain faithful to what they’d been taught. “We have to go through many hard times to enter the kingdom of God,” they explained.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it’s very difficult for someone who’s rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.

The hearts of these people have become stubborn. They can barely hear with their ears and they’ve closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts. Then they might turn to the Lord, and he would heal them.’

“When you go without eating, don’t look all sad like the hypocrites. They make strange faces so that people will notice that they’re fasting. Truly I tell you, that’s all the reward they’ll get.

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that other people will see them. Truly I tell you, that’s all the reward they’ll get.

“When you give to people in need, don’t announce it by having trumpets blown in front of you. That’s what the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets because they want people to notice them. Truly I tell you, that’s all the reward they’ll get.

Truly I tell you, heaven and earth will disappear before the smallest letter disappears from the Law. Not even the smallest mark of a pen will disappear until everything the Law says happens.

Jesus called a little child over and had them stand in the middle of the group.

Whoever becomes humble like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
