The Lord isn’t slow to keep his promise, not slow in the way some people understand it. Instead, he’s being patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. He wants everyone to turn away from their sins.
While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe through the name you gave me. Not one of them has been lost, except the one headed for destruction, so that Scripture would come true.
When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
So I put up with everything for the good of God’s chosen people, so that they also can be saved through Christ Jesus, with glory that will last forever.
