The Lord isn’t slow to keep his promise, not slow in the way some people understand it. Instead, he’s being patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. He wants everyone to turn away from their sins.

While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe through the name you gave me. Not one of them has been lost, except the one headed for destruction, so that Scripture would come true.

When Jesus and the disciples had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these others do?” “Yes, Lord,” he answered, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

“Make level paths for your feet to walk on.” Then those who have trouble walking will be healed, and they won’t have difficulty anymore.

So I put up with everything for the good of God’s chosen people, so that they also can be saved through Christ Jesus, with glory that will last forever.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

People who don’t trust in God are concerned with those things. But your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

“Therefore, pray like this: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored.

In the same way, let your light shine so that others can see it. Then they’ll see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.

Truly I tell you, if he finds that sheep, he’ll be happier about it than about the 99 that didn’t wander off.

“If your brother or sister sins against you, go and tell them privately what they’ve done wrong. If they listen to you, you’ve won them back.
