Whoever treats one day as different from the rest does that to honor the Lord. Whoever eats meat does that to honor the Lord, and they give thanks to God, while whoever doesn’t eat meat does that to honor the Lord, and they too give thanks to God.
Jesus took the loaves and gave thanks, and then they were distributed to the people where they sat. He did the same with the fish. They gave out as much as each person wanted.
Then he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and gave thanks for them. Then he broke them into pieces and gave them to the disciples, who gave them to the people.
Otherwise, if you’re thanking God in the Spirit and there are visitors present who want to know what’s going on, how can they say “Amen” when you give thanks? They don’t know what you’re saying.
