Simon Peter answered, “Lord, where would we go to? You have the words of eternal life.

By the grace that has been given to me, I say to every one of you, don’t think of yourself more highly than you should. Have a reasonable view of yourself, based on the faith God has given to each of you.

Peter answered him, “We’ve left everything to follow you! What reward will we get?”

But Peter insisted, “Even if I have to die with you, I’ll never say that I don’t know you.” And all the others said the same thing.

But Jesus called out to them right away, “Don’t worry; it’s me! Don’t be afraid.”

“Come,” Jesus said. So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because a person who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind.
