The person who doesn’t have the Spirit doesn’t accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. Those things seem foolish to them, and they can’t understand them, because they can’t be understood without the Spirit’s help.

Jesus answered, “Not everyone can grasp this saying. God has to enable a person to do that.

If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it, and he’ll give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t tell them they shouldn’t have asked.

But you have the Holy Spirit flowing over you, and the Spirit continues to live in you. So you don’t need anyone to teach you. The Spirit teaches you about everything, and his presence in you is real, not fake. So remain in Christ, just as you’ve been taught.

But the Holy One has made the Spirit flow all over you, just as if you’d had sacred oil poured on your head, and so all of you know the truth.

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah! No mere human showed that to you, but my Father in heaven.

he has shown us the mystery of his will. It expresses his desires and his purposes in Christ.

That is a great mystery, and I’m applying it here to Christ and the church.

God is able to strengthen you through the good news, which is the message I preach about Jesus Christ. There was a mystery that had been kept hidden for a very long time.

“You are being given the chance to understand the secrets of God’s kingdom. But to outsiders, I speak in stories. That way, “ ‘They’ll see, but they won’t know what they’re seeing; they’ll hear, but they won’t understand what they’re hearing.’

Listen! I’m telling you a mystery. We’re not all going to die, but we will all be changed.

No, we share God’s wisdom, which is a mystery that has been hidden until now. But before time began, God planned that this wisdom would bring us heavenly glory.

They must hold on to the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him, and if I have enough faith to move mountains, but I don’t have love, I’m nothing at all.

He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but for outsiders, everything is told in stories.

My goal is that they will all be encouraged in their hearts and joined together in love. Then their understanding will be rich and complete, and they will know the mystery of God, which is Christ.

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, the right words will be given to me so I can explain the mystery of the good news boldly.

Who thinks you’re different from anyone else? What do you have that wasn’t given to you? And if it was given to you, why do you brag as though it came from you?

So here’s how you should think of us. We’re servants of Christ who’ve been trusted with the mysteries God has shown us.

If anyone chooses to do God’s will, they’ll know whether my teaching comes from God or from me.

Without question, true godliness comes from this great mystery: Jesus came as a human being, and he was declared right with God by the Holy Spirit. He was seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and taken up in glory.

I also pray that you may understand more clearly. That way you’ll know the hope that God has called you to, the glorious riches that God will give his holy people,

One of the women who listened to us was named Lydia. She was from the city of Thyatira, and she had a business selling purple cloth. She already believed in God, and the Lord opened her heart to accept Paul’s message.

The disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do you tell stories when you speak to the people?”

Jesus said to them, “You will certainly drink from my cup. But it’s not up to me who will sit next to me. Those places belong to the ones my Father has prepared them for.”

But it’s not for me to say who will sit at my right or left hand. These places belong to the ones they’ve been prepared for.”

Brothers and sisters, here’s a mystery I want you to understand. It will keep you from being proud. Part of Israel has refused to obey God, and that will continue until the full number of Gentiles has entered God’s kingdom.
