Some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus and said, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”
Jews want to see signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
Then the Jewish leaders asked him, “What sign can you show us to prove that you have the right to do this?”
Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.
Jesus told him, “You people will never believe unless you see signs and wonders.”
As the crowds were growing larger, Jesus told them, “The people of this generation are evil. They ask for a sign from God, but none will be given to them except the sign of Jonah.
So they asked him, “Then what sign will you give us so we can see it and believe you?
You’ll be found guilty or not guilty based on your words.”
