You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were under the devil’s power, because God was with him.

The one that God has sent speaks God’s words, because God gives the Spirit without limit.

Christ is the living Stone. People rejected him, but God chose him, and he’s very precious to God.

God the Father gave him honor and glory when the voice of the Majestic Glory came to him and said, “This is my beloved Son. I’m very pleased with him.”

He has saved us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.

All these things make us want to praise the glorious grace that God has given us freely in the One he loves.

When they arrived in Antioch, they gathered the church together and told everything that God had done through them. They shared how he had opened a way for the Gentiles to believe.

When they heard this, they didn’t question or criticize Peter any longer. Instead, they praised God and said, “So then, God has allowed even Gentiles to turn away from their sins and find life!”

The people stood there watching. The rulers even mocked Jesus, saying, “He saved others, let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”

but a voice came from the cloud and said, “This is my Son, the one I have chosen; listen to him.”

and the Holy Spirit came to rest on him in the form of a dove. A voice spoke from heaven and said, “You are my beloved Son. I’m very pleased with you.”

Then a cloud appeared and covered them. A voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!”

A voice from heaven said to him, “You are my beloved Son. I’m very pleased with you.”

While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, and I’m very pleased with him. Listen to him!”

This was to make what the prophet Isaiah had said come true:
