This made the words of Isaiah the prophet come true. He had said, “Lord, who has believed what we’ve been saying? Who has seen the Lord’s saving power?”

This happened to make the words of the prophet come true:

So the words spoken by the prophet came true: “I will open my mouth and tell stories. I’ll speak about things that have been hidden since the world was created.”

The people of Jerusalem and their rulers didn’t recognize Jesus. By finding him guilty, they made the words of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath day, come true.

Later, when Jesus knew that everything had now been finished, so that Scripture would come true, he said, “I’m thirsty.”

We know that Scripture is always true. If God could speak to some people and call them ‘gods,’

Jesus said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must come true.”

This is the time when God will punish Jerusalem. Everything will come true, just as it has been written.

This happened to make the words of Isaiah the prophet come true. He had said, “He took away our weakness and carried off our sickness.”

But he warned them not to tell other people about him.

“Here is my servant, the one I have chosen. He’s the one I love, and I’m very pleased with him. I will put my Spirit on him, and he’ll announce to the nations that everything is going to be made right.
