His hands and feet had often been chained, but he tore the chains apart and broke the iron cuffs off his ankles. No one was strong enough to control him.

Many times it had taken hold of him, so that even though his hands and feet were chained and he was kept under guard, he was able to break his chains. Then the demon would force him to go out into lonely places in the countryside.
