Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks evil things against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

They’ll be destroyed forever and be shut out of heaven, and they’ll never see the glory of the Lord’s strength.

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah and the towns around them did immoral and unnatural things. Those people are an example of those who are punished with fire that never goes out.

Jesus said this because the teachers of the law were saying, “He has an evil spirit.”
