The chief priests brought many charges against him.
From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free. But the Jewish leaders kept shouting, “If you let this man go, you’re not Caesar’s friend! Anyone who claims to be a king is against Caesar!”
But Jesus still didn’t reply, and Pilate was amazed.
But when the chief priests and the elders brought their charges against him, he didn’t respond.
“Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate. “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
So Pilate questioned him again. “Aren’t you going to answer?” he asked. “Look at how many things they’re accusing you of!”
