They offered him wine mixed with spices, but he wouldn’t drink it.

There they mixed wine with bitter spices and offered it to Jesus to drink. But after he had tasted it, he wouldn’t drink it.

The soldiers also came up and made fun of him. They offered him wine vinegar

I tell you, I will not drink wine with you again until God’s kingdom comes.”

Truly I tell you, I won’t drink wine with you again until the day I drink it in the kingdom of God.”

So the disciples did what Jesus told them to do, and they prepared the Passover meal.
