Judas was in charge of the money, some of the disciples thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the feast. Others thought Jesus was talking about giving something to the poor.

These people follow their own evil desires. They grumble and complain about others, but they brag about themselves and praise others to get what they want.

Do everything without complaining or arguing.

Anyone who used to steal must never steal again. Instead, they should work, doing something useful with their own hands, so that they will have something to share with people in need.

And don’t speak against God, as some of the people of Israel did—and they were killed by the destroying angel.

“Stop grumbling,” Jesus told them.

Philip answered, “We’d have to spend more than half a year’s pay to buy enough bread for each person to have just a bite!”

the Pharisees and the teachers of the law started muttering, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

When they saw what they were getting, they began to complain about the manager.

“But then that servant went out and found another servant, who owed him 100 silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

Some of the people there got angry and said to one another, “Why did she waste that perfume?

“Leave her alone,” Jesus told them. “Why are you criticizing her? She has done a beautiful thing for me.

“This perfume could have been sold for a lot of money, and it could have been given to the poor.”
