But Jesus went out to the Mount of Olives.

The apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives. (That’s just over half a mile from the city.)

Then Jesus left them and went out of the city to spend the night in Bethany.

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, across from the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,

telling them, “Go to the village ahead of you. Just as you enter it, you’ll find a donkey’s colt tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.
