You know what the commandments say. ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, don’t be a false witness, don’t cheat, honor your father and mother.’ ”
There’s a commandment that says, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” That one command sums up all the others, including “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not commit murder,” “Do not steal,” and, “Don’t want what belongs to others.”
The same one who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” If you don’t commit adultery but you do commit murder, then you’ve broken the law.
You know what the commandments say: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not commit murder, do not steal, do not be a false witness, honor your father and mother.’ ”
None of you should sin against your brother or sister by doing that. You shouldn’t take advantage of your brother or sister. The Lord will punish everyone who commits sins like those. We’ve already told you and warned you about that.
