But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and don’t try to stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these.”

“Make sure you don’t look down on one of these little ones. I tell you, their angels in heaven see face to face my Father who is in heaven.

Whoever becomes humble like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Like newborn babies, you should crave the pure milk of God’s word. It will help you grow up as believers.

You’ve known the Holy Scriptures ever since you were a little child. They’re able to teach you how to be saved through faith in Christ Jesus.

As far as the good news is concerned, the people of Israel are enemies, and this has been for your benefit. But as far as God’s choice is concerned, the people of Israel are loved because of God’s promises to the founders of their nation.

When the first handful of dough is offered to God, this shows that all of the dough belongs to him. If the root of a tree belongs to God, then so do the branches that grow from it.

The words the prophets spoke and the covenant God made with your people long ago are meant for you too. God said to Abraham, ‘All the nations on the earth will be blessed through your children.’

The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away—for everyone the Lord our God will call.”

Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, and then he firmly put Peter in his place. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You’re not thinking about what God wants. You’re only thinking about what people want.”

Jesus looked around at all of them angrily. He was upset because their hearts were so stubborn. Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” When he stretched it out, his hand became as good as new.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.

Blessed are those who suffer for the sake of justice, because the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they’re born again.”

Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they’re born of water and the Spirit.
