When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.

They came to Capernaum, and when they were in the house together, he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the road?”

After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive out the evil spirit?”

Later, when Jesus was alone, the 12 disciples and others around him asked about the stories.

So no one should separate what God has joined together.”

He answered, “If a man divorces his wife and gets married to another woman, he is committing adultery against her.
