When the time grew near for Jesus to be taken up to heaven, he resolved to go to Jerusalem.

When the Lord Jesus had finished speaking to them, he was taken up into heaven, where he sat down at the right hand of God.

Jesus took the 12 disciples aside and told them, “We’re going up to Jerusalem and everything that the prophets wrote about the Son of Man is going to come true.

Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching the people as he continued on his way to Jerusalem.

On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

He has now gone into heaven, and he’s at God’s right hand, with angels, authorities, and powers under his control.

And let’s keep looking to Jesus. He’s the one who leads us into faith and the one who makes our faith mature. Because of the joy he was looking forward to, he didn’t let the shame of being put to death on a cross stop him. He suffered on the cross, and then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Jesus had always loved his disciples who were in the world, and he now loved them to the very end.

Then what if you see the Son of Man go back up to where he was before?

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.

After Jesus had said this, he continued on, going up to Jerusalem.

While the people were listening to these things, Jesus told them a story, because he was near Jerusalem, and the people thought that God’s kingdom was going to appear right away.

But I have a baptism of suffering to go through, and I must go through it.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize, because God has called me toward heaven in Christ Jesus in order to win it.

As they continued down the road, a man said to Jesus, “I will follow you no matter where you go.”
