Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish, looked up to heaven, and gave thanks. Then he broke the food into pieces and gave it to the disciples to give to the people.

Then he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and gave thanks for them. Then he broke them into pieces and gave them to the disciples, who gave them to the people.

When they were together at the table, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and began to give it to them.

Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to the disciples. They passed them out to the people.

Whoever treats one day as different from the rest does that to honor the Lord. Whoever eats meat does that to honor the Lord, and they give thanks to God, while whoever doesn’t eat meat does that to honor the Lord, and they too give thanks to God.

After Paul said this, he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all. Then he broke it and began to eat.

Then some boats arrived from Tiberias, near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord gave thanks,

Jesus took the loaves and gave thanks, and then they were distributed to the people where they sat. He did the same with the fish. They gave out as much as each person wanted.

Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “This is my body, given for you; do this in memory of me.”

and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, given for you. Every time you eat it, do this in memory of me.”

If I’ve given thanks for my food, then I shouldn’t be blamed for eating something that I’ve thanked God for.

Jesus looked up to heaven and said to the man with a deep sigh, “Ephphatha!” which means, “Be opened!”

The disciples did this, and everyone sat down.

Everybody ate as much as they wanted until everyone was full. But the disciples still picked up 12 baskets full of leftover pieces.
