My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree produce olives, or can a grapevine produce figs? Of course not! A saltwater spring can’t produce fresh water either.

“If you make a tree good, its fruit will be good. If you make a tree bad, its fruit will be bad. You can tell a tree by its fruit.

These ungodly people are like stains at the meals you share. They’re shepherds who shamelessly feed only themselves. They’re like clouds without rain, blown along by the wind. They’re like trees that haven’t produced any fruit by the fall and are pulled out of the ground. That makes them dead in two ways.

You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?

So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.
