Make sure that no one pays back one wrong act with another. Instead, always try to do what’s good for each other and for everyone else.

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then you will have a great reward. You will be children of the Most High God, who is kind to people who do wrong and are ungrateful.

So whenever we get the chance to do something good for anyone, let’s do it, and especially for people within the family of believers.

“Think carefully about what you hear,” he said. “The more you do so, the more you will receive—even more than you put into it.

You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were under the devil’s power, because God was with him.

Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” After he’d said this, he fell asleep.

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, because they don’t know what they’re doing.” The soldiers divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Therefore, listen carefully. If someone has something, they will be given more. But if someone has nothing, even what they think they have will be taken away from them.”

But the seed that fell on good soil stands for those who have good and honest hearts. Those people hear the message, keep it in their hearts, remain faithful, and produce a good crop.

Still other seed fell on good soil. It grew up and produced 100 times more seeds than were planted.” After Jesus had said this, he called out, “Whoever understands should take this to heart.”

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you, when they say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as evil because of the Son of Man.

Dear friend, don’t imitate those who are doing wrong, but those who are doing good. Anyone who does what’s good belongs to God. Anyone who does what’s wrong hasn’t really seen or known God.

But Paul shouted, “Don’t hurt yourself! We’re all here!”
