One day when Jesus was standing by the Sea of Galilee, all the people crowded around him to listen to the word of God.

Because the crowd was so big, Jesus told his disciples to get a small boat ready for him so the people wouldn’t crush him.

They crossed over the lake and landed at Gennesaret.

They went across the lake and landed at Gennesaret, and there they tied up the boat.

From the time of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been under attack, and violent people have been raiding it.

During that time, when a crowd of so many thousands had gathered that the people were stepping on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples. He said, “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. They just pretend to be godly.

So Jesus went with him. A large group of people came along with them, and they were crowding all around Jesus.

“Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everybody insisted they hadn’t done it. Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pushing against you.”

Jesus began to teach again by the Sea of Galilee. A very large crowd gathered around him, so he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake while all the people stayed along the shore at the water’s edge.

At the edge of the water, Jesus saw two boats. They had been left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets.

One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and headed out.

As they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep. Then a storm came down on the lake. It was so severe that the boat was about to sink, so they were all in great danger.

When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank, ran into the lake, and was drowned.

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two disciples who heard what John said and followed Jesus.

Some time after this, Jesus crossed over to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. (It’s also known as the Sea of Tiberias.)

Remember your leaders, who spoke God’s word to you. Think about the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
