When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet. He shouted at the top of his voice, “Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what do you want with me? I beg you, don’t torture me!”

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I’d heard them and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who’d been showing them to me.

The wise men went into the house, and there they saw the child with his mother Mary. They bowed down and worshiped him, and then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

and said to him, “I will give you all their authority and glory. It has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.

Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.’ ”
