Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man does not live only on bread.’ ”

Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘People must not live only on bread, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”

Put on the helmet of salvation, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Don’t get all worried and say, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’

It is written, “ ‘The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you.

Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.’ ”

Then Jesus asked the disciples, “Did you lack anything when I sent you without a purse, bag, or sandals?” “Nothing,” they answered.

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
