and there the devil tempted him for 40 days. Jesus ate nothing during that time, and at the end of the 40 days he was very hungry.
We don’t have a high priest who can’t feel what we feel when we’re weak. Instead, we have a high priest who has been tempted in every way just as we are, but without sinning.
Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he’s able to help others who are being tempted.
Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was tired from the journey, so he sat down by the well. It was around noon.
