As they talked about those things, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them.

Where two or three people gather in my name, I am there with them.”

The disciples were still talking about this when Jesus himself suddenly stood among them. He said to them, “Peace be with you!”

The disciples talked this over among themselves and decided, “He must be saying this because we didn’t bring any bread.”

They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.

But they were kept from recognizing him.
