Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath day in order to obey the Law.

Very early in the morning on the first day of the week, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.

When the Sabbath day was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices to put on Jesus’ body.
