Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks, broke it, gave it to them, and said, “This is my body, given for you; do this in memory of me.”

We give thanks for the cup at the Lord’s Supper. When we do, aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? When we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ?

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
