When Jesus was 12 years old, they went up to the feast as usual.
Every year Jesus’ parents would go to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast.
After the feast was over, they left to go back home. The boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they didn’t realize this;
Jesus went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. On the Sabbath day he went as usual to the synagogue and stood up to read.
When he arrived in Galilee, the people living there welcomed him. They’d seen everything he’d done in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast because they’d been there themselves.
