to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God. I want them to have their sins forgiven and find a place among God’s people by believing in me.’
When they heard this, they didn’t question or criticize Peter any longer. Instead, they praised God and said, “So then, God has allowed even Gentiles to turn away from their sins and find life!”
The leaders warned Peter and John again and then let them go. They didn’t dare punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.
Those who are blind are receiving their sight, those who are disabled are walking, those with skin diseases are being made clean, those who are deaf are hearing, and the dead are being raised to life. And the good news is preached to those who are poor.
But God chose you to be his own people, his royal priests, a holy nation, his special treasure. You’re all these things so that you can tell everyone how wonderful God is. He brought you out of darkness and into his marvelous light.
Jesus came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives. There the whole crowd of disciples began to praise God joyfully. In loud voices, they praised him for all the miracles they had seen. They shouted,
