People were also bringing babies to Jesus because they wanted him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they told the people to stop.

I begged the Lord three times to take it away from me.

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell your disciples to stop shouting!”

So he called out, “Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

Then Jesus told his disciples a story to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

“Woe to you experts in the law! You have taken away the key to the door of knowledge. You have not entered yourselves, but you have stood in the way of those who wanted to enter.”

While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” the messenger said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.

He replied, “You have such little faith! Why are you so afraid?” Then Jesus got up and ordered the winds and the waves to stop, and it became completely calm.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him. They called out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Jesus stopped and told the people to bring the man over to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,
