He answered them, “What if one of your sheep fell into a pit on the Sabbath day? Wouldn’t you grab hold of it and lift it out?

The Lord responded, “You’re such hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you go to the barn and untie your ox or donkey on the Sabbath day, and don’t you then lead it out and give it water?

He asked them another question. He said, “If you had a child or an ox that fell into a well on the Sabbath day, wouldn’t you pull them out right away?”

He replied, “If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

No, instead you’ll say, ‘Prepare my supper, dress as a table servant, and wait on me while I eat and drink. Then after that you can eat and drink.’

“Remember how it was in the days of Noah; it will be the same when the Son of Man comes.
