“But woe to you who are rich! You’ve already had your easy life.

Don’t love the world or anything that’s in it. If anyone loves the world, they don’t have any love for the Father in them.

If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It would be better to enter eternal life with only one foot than to be thrown into hell with two feet.

The mind that’s ruled by wrong desires is at war with God. It doesn’t obey God’s law, because it can’t.

Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and they brag about things they should be ashamed of. They only think about earthly things.

A beggar named Lazarus used to sit at his gate. His body was covered with sores,

“Sir,” they said, “we remember something that this liar said while he was still alive. He claimed, ‘After three days I will rise again.’

Besides, a wide space has been placed between us and you, so that even if we want to, we can’t go from here to you, and no one can cross over from you to us.’
