The people came out to investigate. When they got to Jesus, they found the man from the town, now free of the demons, sitting at Jesus’ feet. He was dressed and thinking clearly. All this made the people afraid.

Then Mary took two cups of pure nard, an expensive perfume, and poured it on Jesus’ feet. She wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the sweet smell of the perfume.

and many Jews had come out to comfort Martha and Mary on the loss of their brother.
