‘We wipe even the dust of your town from our feet! We do this to warn you, and here is what you can be sure of: God’s kingdom has come near.’

Paul and Barnabas shook the dust off their feet to protest against the people who’d opposed them, and then they went on to Iconium.

Heal the sick who are there and tell everyone, ‘God’s kingdom has come near you.’

The Son is the brilliance of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together by his powerful word. Once he had provided the way for people to be made pure from sin, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly. “We had to speak God’s word to you first,” they said. “But you haven’t accepted it, as if you think you don’t deserve eternal life. So we’re going to talk to the Gentiles from now on.

Be careful! Don’t let what the prophets spoke about happen to you. They said,

“Listen, fellow children of Abraham! Listen, you Gentiles who worship God! This message of salvation has been sent to us.

If the people of any place don’t welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet as a witness against them.”

Some people may not welcome you or listen to your words. If they don’t, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.

But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a stubborn people who don’t obey me.”

But what does it say? “The message is near you, it’s in your mouth and in your heart.” (This means the message about faith that we are preaching.)

He said, “Turn away from your sins! The kingdom of heaven is near.”

As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’

The people in some places may not welcome you; if they don’t, leave and shake the dust off your feet. This will be a witness against the people living there.”

But if you enter a town and they don’t welcome you, go into its streets and say,
