Dear friends, I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share. But I felt that I had to write and urge you to stand up for the faith that God’s holy people have been trusted with once and for all time.

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you openly told others what you believed in front of many witnesses.

But no matter what happens, live in a way that brings honor to the good news about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you, I’ll know that you’re standing firm together in the one Spirit and that you’re fighting together as a unit to defend the good news.

But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Let the Holy Spirit guide you when you pray.

They won the victory over him by the blood of the Lamb and by speaking the truth about Jesus to others. They didn’t love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

To Titus, my true son in the faith we share. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior give you grace and peace.

But we didn’t give in to them for a moment, in order to protect the truth of the good news for you.

I ask you, brothers and sisters, to listen carefully to the challenges and encouragement that I’ve offered you briefly.

But Saul got better and better at proving that Jesus is the Messiah, and none of the Jews living in Damascus could answer his arguments.

Earlier, in the city of Philippi, we suffered and the people treated us very badly, as you also know. But God still gave us the boldness to tell you his good news, even when people strongly opposed us.

When I passed on to you what I received, I told you that the most important thing was that Christ died for our sins, just as Scripture said he would;

Salvation can be found in no one else, because no other name has been given to us under heaven—it’s only in Jesus’ name that we must be saved.”

In public meetings, he argued sharply against Jews who disagreed with him, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.

He explained and proved that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I’m telling you about is the Messiah!” he said.

Dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ said would happen.

From Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ. To you who have received a faith as precious as ours and who have been made right with our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

With the help of Silas, who I consider to be a faithful brother, I’ve written you this short letter to encourage you and to confirm that this is the true grace of God. Remain strong in it.

To God’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.

“Let this be known: God has sent his salvation to the Gentiles, and they will listen!”

I haven’t let anyone keep me from telling you everything God wants you to do.

There’s no longer any Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female, because you’re all one in Christ Jesus.

So God’s word kept spreading. The number of disciples in Jerusalem grew quickly, and a large number of priests began to obey Jesus’ teachings.

“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I’ve heard many reports about this man. They say he’s done great harm to your holy people in Jerusalem.

Even though we’re talking like this, we’re sure of better things in your case, dear friends—things that go with being saved.

It would have been better for them not to know the way of godliness than to know it but then turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.
