We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.
You didn’t choose me, I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit that would endure, so that you would receive from the Father anything you ask for in my name.
“My food,” Jesus said, “is to do what my Father sent me to do and to finish his work.
If anyone chooses to do God’s will, they’ll know whether my teaching comes from God or from me.
Then I said, ‘Here I am. As it’s written about me in the book, I’ve come to do your will, my God.’ ”
The man answered, “That’s quite a surprise! You don’t know where he comes from, and yet he restored my sight.
Nobody has ever heard of anyone making a person who was born blind able to see.
But I know that even now God will give you anything you ask for.”
