Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
“I don’t know if he’s a sinner or not,” he replied, “but I do know one thing. I used to be blind, and now I can see!”
He answered, “I’ve already told you, but you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples too?”
The Pharisees and the teachers of the law wanted to have something they could hold against Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath day.
“Then how come you can see now?” they asked.
The Pharisees also asked him how he’d become able to see. “He put mud on my eyes,” the man replied, “and then I washed, and now I can see.”
